About Kat

Outdoor Sports

Hi, I’m Kat.

A large part of practice is focused on working with clients who have built a strong identity around their athletic pursuits but are facing a fork in the road – an injury, loss, family responsibilities, loss of interest, burnout – that is causing them to take time away from activity and to question who they are, and who they will be, without this outlet. I offer a non-judgemental space to explore the questions that you might have arising, about what your life means now, moving through the grief, and finding purpose.

I’m a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and Art Therapist. I spend as much time as I can playing in the incredible mountains around Nelson, BC - the traditional territories of the Sinixt, the Ktunaxa, and the Syilx peoples. It is in these mountains, and others around the world, that I have found my people and myself. The outdoors, and the sports that take me there, have been central to my identity and way of life for as long as I can remember.

That is why I am passionate about helping clients to move through the difficult transition injury and loss can instil. Often these experiences are not only devastatingly difficult in and of themselves, but if they are caused by a sport or activity that is central to our identity, they also cause us to question who we are, and who we are going to be in the future.
